We have been busy cutting Baylage and Silage for winter food and also some extra because its been a dryer Summer than normal for us. But we did have quite a bit of rain last night which is the best Christmas present for the farm. So our winter crop of Swede & Kale is coming along well from the recent rain.

We moved this seasons Calves up to a runoff block we have just up the road and we will cut Hay later in January and we also cut the Calf paddocks on the Dairy platform for hay to tidy them up. This is because the Calves like to just nibble the bottoms out for the paddocks and this leaves quite a bit of stalky longer growth and the Cows are less than impressed if we put them in a paddock where all the most tasty bits have been easten.

Christmas is a great time to catch up with family and friends and we always look forward to a big family Christmas on the farm. We hope you all have a super Christmas with friends and family too.
